hi dreamwidth!

Hello! I have no clue what I'm doing here.

I've made this Dreamwidth account to act as a personal blog for my general chatter, writing, and possibly creative projects too. While I do have a Tumblr [linked in profile, same username], I've become increasingly more interested in blog-blogging. You know, writing out long paragraphs and talking about things at length.

I like Tumblr-- love it, actually-- it's been my main social media website since 2011. I just... don't use it to interact or communicate. It's lovely for collecting and organizing posts, but I just don't enjoy blogging on it.

I've thought about creating a little website for myself. I started building a basic static site to use with Neocities, but have never actually uploaded a site there. What a learning experience that was, though! It turns out I like casually coding HTML. For fun. Not sure how it'll go when I take a class for it.

Which is something I'm doing! I'm going back to college in January; I'm taking a class on comics and a web design class. What fun! Hopefully. Please let it be fun.

Something I'd like to use this Dreamwidth for is to discuss my writing. I think it could be fun to just... talk about my process, share thoughts, and that sort of thing. My friends get a lot of that chatter, and they're very supportive and we have fun, and I simply think it'd be fun to try blogging about it.

Regarding my writing, it's like... all fanfiction. Basically all of it. I've tried my hand at original writing and just didn't enjoy it; I think I find a lot more enjoyment playing within existing sandboxes than having to construct my own custom sandbox from scratch.

I'm not sure how often I'll end up actually using this Dreamwidth blog. We'll see how it goes!

Well. That's a stream of consciousness introduction. I'm going to snoop around Dreamwidth and see what I can find on the fandom side of things.
